Cherokee, N.C. (April 25, 2017) The World Series of Poker Circuit at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina. has ran its course and concluded with the Main Event in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Twelve WSOP gold rings were handed out and Circuit stop records were set.

Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry, which set a new prizepool record at Harrah’s Cherokee, kicked off the 12-event series. A field of 3,196 entries generated a total purse of $958,800, and it was Bryan Carter who walked away with the $165,400 top prize.

A good portion of the gold rings were claimed by repeat recipients. John Nelson won Event #2 for his second gold ring; Jessie Bryant won Event #3 for his fifth gold ring; Robert Hankins won Event #4 for his seventh gold ring; David Aker won Event #8 for his second gold ring; and finally, Cody Pack won Event #12 for his fifth gold ring.

Jesse Cohen came ever-so-close to his first gold ring twice during the series. Cohen took second place in Event #3 and Event #12. Even though the poker pro did not get a taste of gold, his incredible mark of six cashes granted him enough points for the Casino Champion honors.

The biggest score of the series went to Vanessa Truong, who topped a record-breaking field of 1,164 entries in the Main Event. Truong walked away with a debut World Series of Poker gold ring and $318,646.

With only two stops left, the Circuit tour will start up again in two days. The Horseshoe Baltimore series begins Thursday, April 27.

Casino Champion Race

Jesse Cohen successfully overthrows David Aker after placing second in the final event of the Harrah's Cherokee Circuit stop. Cohen ended up with six cashes and 107.5 points in the 12-tournament series, granting him the Casino Champion honors.
