Ian Johns was at the bottom of the chip counts when he walked into the Amazon Room for Day 2 of Event #8: HO.R.S.E. He didn't have enough to make a full big bet in the Seven Card Stud game that started the day. But he built his stack up to a survival level early on and is still in the hunt.

Preflop, an early-position player calls. Johns pulls some chips off a stack that's grown to more than 15,000 and calls. Three players, including the big blind, see the flop of    , the first two check, and Johns, in position, bets. Both of the others fold, and Johns keeps building.
