WSOP CIRCUIT OPENS AT CAESARS ATLANTIC CITY
Atlantic City, NJ – For the sixth consecutive year, Caesars Atlantic City is hosting the World Series of Poker Circuit, the game’s biggest and most prestigious national tournament series.

The 12-day tournament series started on Wednesday, March 2nd with a nearly packed house.  Daily and nightly tournaments continue through March 13th.  This is the tenth WSOP Circuit stop of the season, following previous tournaments held in several other locations throughout the U.S.  The 2010-2011 season includes a total of 15 WSOP Circuit stops.

Given the current crop of tournaments are taking place at one of gaming’s premier venues and the South Jersey Shore’s close proximity to huge poker markets, including New York and Philadelphia, Caesars Atlantic City has traditionally attracted some of the WSOP Circuit's largest turnouts.

This year was no exception as the popular tournament series played just steps from the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk began with a $350 buy in No Limit Hold’em event which attracted 742 entrants.  This was up from 682 entries last year.  A midweek start didn’t hurt attendance either, as many of the East Coast’s best poker players made the trek to Atlantic City.  Numbers and prize pools are expected to be just as big in the coming days as the series includes what are expected to be two busy poker weekends.

All tournaments take place inside the Palladium Arena, located on the second floor of specious and luxurious Caesars Atlantic City.  This year’s schedule includes ten gold ring events, along with multiple second-chance tournaments, single table and mega satellites, plus cash games going around the clock inside the Caesars Poker Room.  See the schedule here: Caesars Atlantic City tournament schedule.

All players are eligible to compete in the National Championship point race.  The top players who qualify at each WSOP Circuit stop will compete in a nationally-televised championship, which will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in May for the top 100 players.
