WSOP SALUTES AMERICA
The World Series of Poker wishes to take this opportunity to salute all the current and former members of the U.S. armed forces, on this Veteran's Day holiday.

Please take a moment during this special day to remember those who have served our nation.  Better yet, say “thanks” to a veteran if you see one.  They've earned that gratitude from all of us.

On Monday here at Harveys Lake Tahoe, the latest WSOP Circuit tourney (Event 6) kicked off in the most unusual fashion.  Gold bracelet winner “Captain” Tom Franklin took to the center of the tournament room, where he recognized all veterans in the crowd.

Next, Franklin delivered an a'capella rendition of the U.S. National Anthem.

One thing is for sure -- it takes courage to serve in combat as Franklin once did.  It also takes real guts to stand up and sing without any musical accompaniment in front of 500 people.

This video of Franklin's performance can be seen HERE.

Franklin's performance is also posted at the WSOP Circuit blog.
