Of the 12 events played during the Horseshoe Bossier City Circuit event, Quan Nguyen cashed in half of them. He final tabled 25% of them. He made it to heads-up 25% of the time as well.

Sometimes the Casino Champion races on the Circuit are hotly contested affairs with many lead changes, contenders, and nail biting finishes. Sometimes a player just runs over the whole field in event after event after event.

Such is the case with Nguyen, a 43 year-old poker enthusiast from Garland, Texas who dabbles in day trading and has been logging cashes on the Circuit for the past three years. His Circuit track record is off to an impressive start. Since he began logging cashes he has finished in the money nine times. Of those, six were final table appearances. In other words, two out of every three times Nguyen makes the money on the Circuit, he is in a position to potentially win a ring.

Unfortunately for Nguyen, the one thing missing from his illustrious Bossier City results, which netted him $36,899 in cashes was that ring. Three times Nguyen was on the verge of victory and three times he had to settle for second place. It is certainly a nice consolation prize to walk away with a Casino Champion win and a seat in the 2013 WSOP National Championship presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof in New Orleans next May, but Nguyen did admit that the absence of a victory was a bit disappointing.

Nguyen goes into detail about how it felt to not walk away with a win, what it felt like to run so well during the Series, and what it is like to be him in this interview with WSOP Media Director, Nolan Dalla:
