WSOP CIRCUIT RETURNS TO PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB

West Palm Beach, FL – For the fourth consecutive year, the WSOP Circuit will call the Palm Beach Kennel Club home beginning February 5 and running through February 17.  Poker players from across the country will converge on West Palm Beach for the 14th stop of the WSOP circuit.  It all kicks off Wednesday with PBKC’s signature event, the $1 Million Guarantee, with five starting flights and a $580 buy-in.

PBKC set a WSOP Circuit record last year with the largest single tournament turnout of the season with 2,539 entrants for the $1 Million Guarantee.  PBKC also featured two prize pools over $1,000,000 including the $1 Million Guarantee and the Main Event.  Last year 6,369 played in the WSOP Circuit events and $3,239,700 in prize money was awarded.

Last year, Jonathan Tamayo won the WSOP Circuit Main Event Championship, $206,020, and his second WSOP Circuit gold ring. The 27-year-old poker pro from Humble, TX, came out on top of the field of 670 entrants.

Casino Champion honors went to 20-year-old Sam Panzica of Saline, MI, who racked up 80 points.  He made two final tables -- finishing second and fourth -- and also finished 21st in the Main Event.  Both of these players earned seats in the 2012/2013 season-ending WSOP National Championship.  The now 21-year old Panzica is already qualified for the 2014 WSOP National Championship, having won the Casino Champion title at Horseshoe Cincinnati.

In addition to the $1 Million Guarantee $580 buy-in No Limit Hold'em opening event and the $1,675 NLH Main Event Championship, ten more ring events are on the schedule, including $365 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha High/Low and HORSE events, two one-day Turbo NLH events, and a Six-Max NLH event.

A full schedule of events is available on WSOP.com.

PB Kennel Club was the first non-casino to earn the right to offer WSOP Circuit tournaments and the only stop in the State of Florida beginning in February 2011.  In all three years, the Kennel Club finished as one of the most successful WSOP Circuit stop in its entire circuit schedule.
