WSOP CIRCUIT RETURNS TO ST. LOUIS AFTER ONE YEAR HIATUS
The World Series of Poker Circuit Tour is returning to St. Louis in 2014, after a one-year hiatus, with a stop at Lumière Place Casino March 20th through March 31st.  The 17th of 22 stops on this season's schedule will be the first held in St. Louis since the Harrah's changed hands to become Lumière Place, which is located in downtown St. Louis  only steps from the famous Gateway Arch.

Lumière Place also includes Lumière Link, a 400-foot tunnel featuring two sections of moving walkway. It provides an easy and secure pedestrian link between St. Louis’ central business district, the Lumière Place resort and the Mississippi Riverfront.

The last time the WSOP Circuit stopped in St. Louis in April of 2012, the Main Event drew 625 entries and created a prize pool of $909,375.  Tripp Kirk (Atlanta, GA) was the winner, picking up $190,961 and his second WSOP Circuit ring.

The Casino Champion race was won by Nik Stone (Pittsville, WI) with a win in Event 7, Six-Max No Limit Hold'em, and a 6th place finish in Event 1.  Stone parlayed his free seat in the WSOP National Championship into a much larger payday, earning $257,119 for his second place finish in the televised 2011/2012 season-ending bracelet event.

In addition to this year's 12 official ring events over 12 days, there will be a full slate of side events and satellites.  The full schedule can be viewed on WSOP.com.  The $1,675 Main Event features two starting days, Friday, March 28th and Saturday March 29th.  The three-day event culminates on Monday, March 31st.

“We are pleased to be able to return a signature event to the great poker community in St. Louis,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “We’re thrilled that Lumière Place management was so passionate about bringing the WSOP back to St. Louis. With their experience running large poker tournaments and a luxurious destination, we are confident they will put on one of the Midwest’s premier poker festivals.”

Special hotel rates are available for WSOP Circuit participants: Sunday - Thursday, $89/night; Friday - Saturday, $129/night.  Mention code 'WSOP14'.
