NEXT UP ON THE CIRCUIT: CHEROKEE ROUND TWO

The WSOP Circuit heads to Cherokee, North Carolina for the second time this year.

Cherokee, N.C. (November 22, 2016) -- The World Series of Poker Circuit has successfully completed the first eight of 22 stops for the 2016-2017 tour with the Palm Beach Kennel Club stop in West Palm Beach, Florida coming to a conclusion Monday evening. The ninth stop on the Circuit schedule will be held at Harrah's Cherokee in western North Carolina. This will be the second WSOPC visit to Harrah's Cherokee this year, after kicking off the 2016/17 tour in back in August.

The festivities will begin on Thanksgiving morning (Thursday, November 24th) with a Flight A of Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry, which is scheduled as a five-day tournament. This opening event features four different starting flights in which players can re-enter an unlimited amount of times. There is also a generous, $300,000 guaranteed prizepool attached to the debut event. The massive, re-entry tournament at Harrah's Cherokee attracted nearly 2,500 entries the first time around. There will be 12 gold ring events, including the $1,675 Main Event that commences Friday, December 2nd. The Main Event will conclude Monday, November 7th, finishing off the Lake Tahoe Circuit.

Round one at Harrah's Cherokee saw Steven Snyder navigate through a field of 804 entrants to take down the Circuit Main Event, claiming his second WSOP Circuit gold ring, and a top-prize of $241,198.

The winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion race will earn a seat to the 2017 Global Casino Championship. There they will compete for a minimum $1 million prizepool, as well as a gold bracelet. To become the Casino Champion a player must earn the most points at a given Circuit stop. Players earn points based on how well they finish in a tournament. More information on the Global Casino Championship leaderboard can be found on WSOP.com.
