Cards in the Air for Day 2; Robert Hodson Leads Unofficial Final Table

Chip leader Robert Hodson
Robert "Bobby" Hodson leads the way as Day 2 of Event #7 is underway with seven players remaining. Hodson, who resides in nearby Jupiter, holds 313,500 chips and is poised to take the Casino Championship lead if he finishes runner-up or better. Those on his heels include Bryce McVay in second with 239,000 and Donovan Bragg in fourth with 141,500.
Full Day 2 seating assignments and chip counts:
Seat 1: Ron Esmann - 78,500 (15 bb)
Seat 2: Brett Bader - 84,500 (16 bb)
Seat 3: Donovan Bragg - 141,500 (28 bb)
Seat 4: Michelle Shah - 105,000 (21 bb)
Seat 5: Robert Hodson - 313,500 (62 bb)
Seat 6: Bryce McVay - 239,000 (47 bb)
Seat 7: John Barrientes - 188,500 (37 bb)
26 minutes remain in the 2,500/5,000 with a 500 ante level
Hodson has some added motivation here in Event #7 as he is playing in honor of the late Chad "lilholdem954" Batista. Batista, a friend of Hodson's who's recognized as one of the first breakout online stars, died unexpectedly last month leaving a void in the hearts of many in the industry.
Hodson has done his friend's memory well thus far as he's maneuvered his way to a guaranteed score of $1,262. The tournament's winner, meanwhile, heads home with $10,351, 50 points toward the Casino Championship and a Circuit gold ring.
An update on the action will be provided after the unofficial final table rids itself of a few players.
