Beltran Abad Takes Massive Chip Lead into Day 2
After 16 levels of splitting pots, the 125 players who put up the $365 to play the only non-hold'em event of the series has been slimmed down to the final 22.
Everybody is chasing Beltran Abad, who brings a massive chip lead into Day 2. He finished the day with 179,000 and is the only player with a six-figure chip count. He has nearly double his closest competitor, which is Fabian Kunning with 94,000.
Claude Purches is fresh off a final table appearance in the $365 no-limit hold'em re-entry event and continued his success by making Day 2 in this event. He is near the bottom of the chip counts with 30,000 in chips. A complete listing of chip counts can be found in the "Reports" tab above.
The final 22 players will come back on Wednesday at 2 p.m. to play down to a winner. Cashing will be on the forefront of everybody's mind with only the top 15 spots taking home a payday.
