Gavin Smith Leads the Final 5 Players

Welcome to Day 4 of Event #53: $1,500 Mixed PLO/8; Omaha 8; Big O.

There are five players returning for an extra day of play, lead by Gavin Smith (1,800,000). Also in contention for the top prize of $189,223 and a gold bracelet are Philipp Eirisch (1,175,000), Allan Le (1,125,000), Cody Crouch (565,000), and Keith Ferrera (320,000).

This new entry on the WSOP calendar brought in 668 players to try out three variations on Omaha split-pot games. It generated a total prize pool of $901,800, and 101 players received a part of the prize money.

The event was scheduled to play down to a winner on Day 3, but the number of players returning for Day 2 made that unlikely. While the pace of eliminations was fast early in the day, it slowed as the players reached the final table after dinner on Saturday.

Play resumes at 2 p.m. on Level 31 with blinds for PLO/8 and Big O at 25,000/50,000, and blinds for Omaha 8 at 50,000/100,000 with limits of 100,000/200,000.
