Robert Webb takes down the Seniors Event for his first WSOP ring

Robert Webb claimed his first World Series of Poker Circuit ring after a strong performance in Event #9: $600 No Limit Hold’em Seniors Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Horseshoe Las Vegas. The tournament drew 293 entries, building a total prize pool of $150,985. Webb took home $32,560 for the win, making it the biggest tournament cash of his career.

Webb battled through a tough field and ultimately defeated David Berger, who finished in second place for $21,703. The final table saw several momentum swings, with Webb surviving a key all-in late in the event that kept his run alive.

Final Table Results

  1. Robert Webb - $32,560
  2. David Berger - $21,703
  3. Timothy Acker - $15,007
  4. Danny Bigelow - $10,598
  5. Rick Whitesell - $7,648
  6. Nick Coukos - $5,641
  7. Stephen Roselius - $4,256
  8. David Weyn - $3,286
  9. William Stanton - $2,597
  10. Seseung Chaffin - $2,103

After his victory, Webb reflected on the ups and downs of his final table run. “I came in third in chips, but I got whittled down and was really short at one point,” he said. “When we were four-handed, I shoved with nine-five of hearts, ran into pocket eights, and somehow got lucky.” That double-up turned things around, and from there, Webb started chipping up and eventually closed it out.

The $32,560 payday marked the biggest score of Webb’s poker career, surpassing a $25,000 cash he earned in a deep run at the WSOP Colossus event. “This is my biggest score,” he said. “I might even take a shot at the Main Event this year. I usually don’t because I don’t love the idea of throwing $10,000 away, but now I’ve got some money to play with.”

While this was Webb’s first WSOP Circuit ring, he’s no stranger to success in seniors events. “I won the seniors event at the Venetian earlier this year for $15,000, and another one at Wynn, though that one was only for a couple thousand,” he said. “I’ve been close before, so it feels good to finally get the ring.”
