James Obst Leads Event #32 Heading Into Day 3
After 190 players started Day 2 of the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event with their eyes set on a deep run into the third and final day, only 20 players will have the opportunity to chase down the $633,357 first place prize and a WSOP gold bracelet.
James Obst will start Day 3 out in front with 1,971,000 when players return to the Rio Wednesday at 1 p.m. Simon Deadman (1,020,000), who led after Day 1, and Nacho Barbero (1,037,000) will join Obst with more than a million chips.
But a number of WSOP bracelet winners remain in the field, including Tuan Le (800,000), Jennifer Tilly (715,000), Igor Dubinskyy (322,000), Jason Mercier (328,000), Pierre Milan (974,000), and Mike Gorodinsky (437,000).
Notable players unable to make it to Day 3 include Jason Somerville, Amir Lehavot, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Leah, Joe Cada, Daniel Colman, and JC Tran.
Players returning for the third and final day of action are guaranteed a $20,059 payday. Play resumes at 1 p.m. and will continue for another ten levels. Be sure to check WSOP.com for live updates throughout the day.
