After a fairly long final day battle Ryan McGreger emerged as the winner of Event #2 out of the field of 191 players for $9,307 and his first ring.
McGreger hails from Norman, OK and said that he plays a lot in his area and tries to play as much as he can. Prior to this win he had over $9,000 in career winnings, this win nearly doubles that total.
Heads up was an interesting battle as McGreger was seeking his first ring and was up against Abraham Araya who is the only player to have two different banners hanging in the Choctaw poker auditorium as he was aiming for his 4th ring.
Araya had a chip lead before a key hand where the board was on the turn. McGreger jammed all in to put a big decision in the hands of Araya who eventually called. McGreger had a king for a full house which bested the pocket tens of Araya. That hand gave McGreger a stranglehold chip lead which he would then finish off swiftly to win the title.
